In the top of the first inning yesterday against West Tenn, Huntsville right fielder Matt LaPorta crashed into the wall after making a running catch, creating a scary moment for Brewers fans.

The Milwaukee Brewers’ top prospect stayed on the ground, writhing in pain for more than five minutes as trainer Dave Yeager and manager Don Money rushed out to the warning track to check on him. LaPorta walked in under his own power but left the game with what Money said was a "bruised back" that would make him day-to-day.

When asked if he was going to have it examined further, a sore LaPorta said: "Don’t know yet. We’ll see after tonight and tomorrow how I feel."

LaPorta, 23, has been one of best hitters in the minors this year, batting .295/.411/.610 in 309 plate appearances. His 19 home runs are the most in all of Double-A, while his 40 extra-base hits are second in Double-A only to teammate Mat Gamel, who has 42 extra-base hits.
