I remember that Scott Barnes glitch because it was the same time as that whole Nick Hagadone incident and Noticed Barnes disappeared from the roster. I have another similar issue with Edwar Cabrera on the Rockies. He was Never recalled, no update to roster status, and milb.com & mlb.com both say he is not on 40m. I noticed it with Zack Putnam too, but he has since been claimed off waivers. Is this the same issue? Thanks Matt. For the players who were removed from the 40 man roster but are NOT listed as electing free agency (ex: Don Kelly), can we assume they have accepted the assignment back to the minor leagues and remain a part of that organization?  Or do they still have a period of time to decide whether they want to become a free agent?
