The Twins have signed Amaurys Minier, the No. 12 international prospect for July 2, for $1.4 million.
Minier, who is from the Dominican Republic, has impressive power from both sides of the plate. At 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, Minier is a shortstop for now but will likely slide over to third base soon. He trained with Jaime Ramos and played in the Dominican Prospect League.
