The Braves have signed Dominican third baseman Kelvin Esteves for $300,000.
Esteves, 16, is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds and is an aggressive hitter who has shown good bat speed and raw power potential from the right side. He has split time between third base and the corner outfield spots. Esteves, who played in the Dominican Prospect League, is from Bani and trained with Carlos Paulino.
Earlier today the Braves also signed Yeralf Torres, a 16-year-old righthander from Venezuela.
