Atlanta Braves
Signed: RHP Peter Moylan (re-signed)
The Braves non-tendered Peter Moylan and Brooks Conrad last December, and while they lost Conrad to the Brewers (minor league deal) they re-signed Moylan.
Baltimore Orioles
Signed: RHP Greg Burke, 1B Nick Johnson
The Orioles have signed enough righty relievers to minor league deals this offseason to stock multiple bullpens. This time we see Greg Burke, who grew up in Camden, N.J., attended Duke and then signed in the independent Atlantic League in ’05. The Padres signed him for the ’06 season, and he advanced quickly to make 48 appearances for the big league club in ’09. Burke did not receive an invitation to big league camp with the Orioles, however, like Willie Eyre, Jon Link, Pat Neshek, Miguel Socolovich and Oscar Vallarreal did. Instead Burke will head to minor league camp along with Winston Abreu, Robert Hinton, Kyler Newby, Raul Rivero and Ross Wolf.
Chicago Cubs
Signed: RHP Michael de la Cruz
Released: RHP Robinson Lopez
Michael de la Cruz hasn't pitched professionally since ’08, which he spent with the DSL Rangers. He drew a 50-game suspension at the outset of ’09 after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Texas released him that September.
You may recognize Robinson Lopez's name as being one-third of the return for Derrek Lee in August ’10. (Ty'Relle Harris and Jeff Lorick were the other two.) The 20-year-old Lopez compiled 35 strikeouts and 30 walks in 69 innings for low Class A Peoria last season, notching a 5.35 ERA and 1.57 WHIP.
Detroit Tigers
Signed: RHP Zach Segovia
Los Angeles Dodgers
Signed: RHP Ricardo Perez
Removed from 40-man: 3B Russ Mitchell (outrighted to Triple-A)
Miami Marlins
Signed: 3B Chase Lambin
Chase Lambin played in the Marlins organization in ’08, one year prior to playing in Japan. He has played for the Triple-A affiliates of the Nationals and Twins the past two years.
Minnesota Twins
Removed from 40-man: RHP Esmerling Vasquez (outrighted to Triple-A)
New York Yankees
Signed: 1B Russ Branyan, 2B Bill Hall
Pittsburgh Pirates
Signed: 3B David Valesente (Alpine (Pecos))
David Valesente played in the independent Pecos League last year, batting .318/.407/.409 with nine doubles in 154 at-bats for Alpine. He wrapped up a career at St. Joseph's in ’10.
Texas Rangers
Signed: LHP Joe Beimel
Toronto Blue Jays
Released: RHP Edgar Manaure, 2B Jacinto Cipriota, OF Mauricio Nagahashi

Posted by Mike | February 16, 2012 at 5:30 am | ShortcutAlso, is there a website, in English, to view Mexican League transactions? Thanks, Matt.
The file we receive from MLB says Zachary E. Segovia signed with Tigers on Feb. 9 (assigned to Double-A Erie).
