Royals Agree To Sign Two Venezuelan Prospects

The Royals have agreed to terms with two 16-year-old Venezuelan prospects for undisclosed amounts.

The Royals agreed to sign shortstop Angelo Castellano, a righthanded hitter who is 6-foot-1, 175 pounds and has good baseball instincts. Kansas City also agreed to a deal with Venezuelan catcher Luis Lara.

Scouting reports on both Lara and Castellano are available to BA subscribers.

Lara and Castellano are the third confirmed international signings for the Royals since the international signing period opened on July 2. The organization also signed Dominican outfielder Elier Hernandez, which the International Prospect League announced was for a bonus of $3.05 million.
