The Cardinals signed Venezuelan catcher Jose Godoy for $200,000.
Godoy, a 16-year-old from Maracaibo, is 5-foot-10, 160 pounds with a contact-oriented swing from the left side of the plate. Baseball America subscribers can read a complete scouting report on Godoy and other top international prospects for this year's July 2 class.
The Cardinals also signed Colombian lefthander Dewin Perez today for $450,000.
