@Carl @dave

You guys are absolutely right on the indy-ball roots of DiNardo and Botts. I made notes to that effect, but they didn't transfer to the published edition. I need to shake off the offseason rust and get back in the indy swing.

The commissioner's office voided both the Yankees' and Phillies' waiver claims on Brian Schlitter, returning him to the Cubs, because he had what MLB deemed a pre-existing injury.

Matt, this doesn't have anything to do with this week's transactions, but I'm a little confused about BRIAN SCHLITTER. From the information I have he was claimed off waivers from the Cubs by the Yankees in January. He was then claimed off waivers from the Yankees by the Phillies in February and subsequentlly placed on their disabled list on 22 March. Now, all of a sudden he appears on the Cubs roster on their 60-day disabled list. What appened????
