Phillies released RHP Matt Anderson.

The former No. 1 overall pick was a non-roster invitee to spring training but never had a real shot of making the team and was among the first cuts to minor league camp. It's not clear if he asked the Phils for his release to see if he could catch on elsewhere or if they simply decided it wasn't going to work out. Anderson hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2005 and is very unlikely to do so again.

I heard the Phils released 18 minor leaguers however I only see 17 listed here. I heard Marco Davillo may have been the 18th. Can you verify?
