This signing reminds me a lot of the Twins Miguel Sano and the Braves Edward Salcedo. Along with DePaula, these guys were the best or right there with the best of the Dominican prospects the year they came available. They all had signability issues with misrepresenting documentation. They all had to wait till they were 19 or 20 to sign...and they all are or will be some of the best prospects among their peers. This seems like a fantastic signing on the surface, especially if it's for as little as $700,000 (as reported earlier).

Also, DePaula is old for a DR prospect. Where and when {as long as he gets clearance by Feb/11} do you see him starting his career?

Where would DePaula fall on the list of top Yankee pitching prospects? 6-10 range already?
