awesome question-
id love to hear JCs answer to that....my answer is, of course. perez and chapman have probably the best natural arsenal in the minors, but both are young, and, as u said, out of their element. Look at Carlos Carrasco- hes still 23 and hes already failed, rturned, and failed again in MLB. hes not done. if we were talking a 25-26 year old like Cohoon, or D Price, or any college guy- yeah- the time is about now for them. But Martin perez?? Unless he has arm damage, file him under "work in progress," with the ultimate result being hes a 1 or 2 starter. some guys get it- Cahill, bumgarner, strasburg. Some guys get it at 25! Josh Johnson....Garza.....even the eric pattersons and trevor crowes of the world. casey mcgahee. 1 more good one- Votto. So eventually, yeah, Perez has to put up or shut up- but thats a LONG WAY AWAY!

I know that Perez is really young for AA, and I know that scouts still love the makeup and stuff, but is there a point when performance needs to start more closely approximating expectation?
