In a transactions column from last year, BA posted that Karl Bolt (Phillies) was placed on the military inactive list because of his military commitment. I heard reports that he was in camp with the Phillies again this Spring but I never saw a transaction where he was placed on a reserve list of any type. Does anyone know his status?

Two other examples of minor league vets finding their ways to the bigs this year would be Michael Ryan (Angels) and Matt Watson (A's).

I feel like Bashore going under the knife has been inevitable for a long time. It sounds like he wasn't feeling 100% at all last spring for Indiana, though he turned in a good year.
