"When you hit a walk-off home run, it's usually best to celebrate after you cross home plate." So what do you call it when Kirk Gibson pumps his fist around second? The pitcher shouldn't be walking over to the hitter's base path. The defense was the instigator, IMO.

The umpires missed the call — when Beltre's teammate, the catcher, pushed him toward home plate, to get him away from the brewing melee, he should have been called out for being assisted on the basepath.
