My favorite NDFA is, without a doubt, Ryan Hanigan. The only reason he got a contract is because he happened to go to the same college as Jim Bowden, who happened to be the GM at the time.

<a href=:http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=l_trn&lid=111" title="Milb.com"> has Fernando Cortez going to Montgomery, Tampa Bay's Southern League affiliate.
	06/05/2010/Signed as Free Agent/Montgomery Biscuits/Fernando Cortez
But B-Ref has him playing for Birmingham. Interesting.

<span style="color: #222222">Aussie Luke Hughes is having a rough time with injuries. Having made his debut with the Twins earlier this year I was hoping to see more opportunities for him. Injuries put a big "what if?" next to a lot of talented players season. I suppose it is the same hazard for a lot of players, but it really made my day when I saw Hughes hit a home run as his first Major League hit. I hope the magic powers of healing lead to a speedy recovery. Nicholas R.W. Henning - Australian Author </span>

Derick,
As explained in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to their Cards beat writer Derrick Goold, Cazana-Marti was the victim of an OF numbers crunch after the Cards signed Randy Winn. The Cards had just sent down Jon Jay and Joe Mather (after the Aaron Miles & Winn signings/additions), and they want Allen Craig playing everyday, plus you have a solid OF in Mark Shorey already at Memphis, and I think the Cards want to see what they have in Jim Rapoport since he's FINALLY hitting now. That means Cazana-Marti gets squeezed out to Mexico....again.

That was a generous eulogy for Eddy. His remarkable pig-headedness as a hitter, lack of ability as a defender and general conviction that any and everyone NOT named Eddy Martinez-Esteve deserved blame for his failings were as much the root causes as his injuries.

If Canzana Marti is putting up decent numbers, why don't the Cards keep him in the states and give him a shot? If there any advantage to having him playing in Mexico? Could you offer up some more info as to why something like this happens?

Gerardo Avila wasn't suspended. Gerardo Rodriguez was one of the three Myrtle Beach players suspended.

Duarte was with Pittsfield of the Can-Am League and Buller was with Camden of the Atlantic League.
