If Chapman joins Leake in the rotation, what happens to Harang, Arroyo, Cueto, and Bailey? Impressive as it is that Leake allowed only one run in his first start, don't the seven walks he actually issued lead to the same conclusion as the walks Chapman might have allowed against major leaguers? And this only confirms what was already known. Given that he has no minor league experience, we can hardly expect Leake to be a finished product, either. If Volquez returns in July, sure, the pitching depth is a good problem to have. Just seems likely that a bad problem has to arise in order to put both Chapman and Leake in the Reds rotation.
