Ben, One other thing on Mateo – He was to sign with cardinals, but his eyes were rumored to be bad. What is the problem and can he play at a high level medically??

The biggest name still available from the 2009 July 2 class is Wagner Mateo, but I wouldn't expect him to sign for at least another month. Rafael DePaula is another big-time arm on the market with interest from the Mariners and Yankees, but he was from the 2008 July 2 class and had previously been suspended by MLB for one year.

Ben, Who are the TOP FA's still available from the July 2nd 2009 class?? Also the Salcedo thing was very messed up. MLB now says he did not lie on age? The Indians were going to pay him 3 times what the Braves paid him 2 years ago, but backed out due to age concerns. It sounds like no one really knows his age!

Ben, Why is there no public list of international prospect signings by MLB clubs? Are there rules (or lack therof) by MLB or elsewhere about disclosure which makes this difficult?
