Top 10 Traded Prospects



In his newest column, John Manuel consulted with pro scouts to rank the top 10 prospects who were traded in the past month. Subscribers can read the complete analysis Premium, but here is the rankings so everyone can comment upon them.

2. Zach Stewart, rhp, Blue Jays (from Reds).
3. Nick Hagadone, lhp, Indians (from Red Sox).
4. Aaron Poreda, lhp, Padres (from White Sox).
5. Jason Knapp, rhp, Indians (from Phillies).
6. Tim Alderson, rhp, Pirates (from Giants).
7. Josh Bell, 3b, Orioles (from Dodgers).
8. Lou Marson, c, Indians (from Phillies).
9. Jason Donald, inf, Indians (from Phillies).
10. Carlos Carrasco, rhp, Indians (from Phillies).

And John Manuel also listed five honorable mentions:

John,

Carlos Carrasco is on pace to pitch 140 or more innings for the fourth year in a row. He doesn’t walk a ton of batters. And his strikeout rate is solid. When I charted one of his Spring Training games this year, I was impressed by his stuff, though he made a lot of mistake pitches.

Can you elaborate on why you have him below Jason Knapp and Tim Alderson?

I saw John’s name in the text but didn’t look to see that you wrote the article J.J. I’ll redirect my inquiry to you :).

Josh Bell’s numbers are just as good as wallace’s, I think he’s flying under the radar he won the southern league all star MVP and the orioles got a steal!!

How close was Scott Barnes to making this list? He has quite an upside and the Indians must think highly of him if they traded Ryan Garko for him straight up.
