Baseball America has had multiple sources confirm three more July 2 signings.
The Brewers have signed Dominican right fielder Jose Pena. No word on the bonus yet, though it’s expected to be a mid six-figure deal. Pena, who is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, has a plus arm and power potential.
The Astros have signed Dominican shortstop Jonathan Mejia. The bonus is believed to be for $370,000. Scouts say Mejia will move to third base or the outfield, but he stands out with his potential at the plate.
In addition to signing Dominican catcher Gary Sanchez for $3 million, the Yankees have also inked Dominican righthander Christopher Cabrera to a bonus believed to be $400,000.
