Dave is correct on both counts. Chad J. Miller was drafted in both '03 and '04 but opted to attend Nevada-Las Vegas instead. Undrafted as a senior in '07, he signed with Aiken of the South Coast League. Orange County (Golden) signed him for '08, but that was before the Angels swooped in and signed him last April with designs on converting him to catcher. However, Miller, who was destined for short-season ball, opened the season on the disabled list and did not return.

As to the spring training invite questions . . . the spring training stats at MLB.com are going to be your best bet.

According to last week's transactions, the Blue Jays released Reid Santos.

Chad Miller was sold to the Angels by the OC Flyers (Golden League) in 2008 after previously playing in the South Coast League, but I guess he never played with the Angels.

Matt, etc.,

Reid Santos is still listed on the Blue Jays' list of non-roster invitees. Therefore, are you sure he signed with the Twins?

Also, do you know whether Chris Stewart received an invite to Yankees' spring training with his acquisition from the White Sox? He had been a non-roster invitee with the White Sox, so, I figured his non-roster invitation might just have transferred with his being traded.

Finally, do you know whether Shawn Hill received an invite to Padres' spring training with his signing?

Thanks!

Matt, etc.,

Is Chad Miller also known by some other name? I wasn't able to find him on Baseball Reference.

Thanks!
