It is the same Derrick McPhearson. For more, check out the just-added note with the Brewers above that our Kary Booher tracked down this week.

The player in question is LHP Jose Luis De Jesus and he was assigned to the
Burlington Royals of the Rookie-level Appalachian League.

It's not correct to say that Venezuelan IF Oscar Salazar didn't play at all in 2006: he didn't play in the organized baseball, but he actually played in the Italian Baseball League for San Marino, resulting among the offensive leaders of the league in HRs (7 - 2nd), RBI (26 - 10th), 2B (17 - 1st), 3B (4 - 4th), SLG (.524 - 1st), OBP (.888 - 4th). That showing was confirmed during the winter in the VWL and was the main reason the O's signed him for the 2007 season.

LHP Jose Dejesus to the Royals...... listed as a LHP, and the only Jose De Jesus or Dejesus I can find last pitched for the Royals in 1994 and was a RHP and would now be 44. Couldn't possibly be him, could it? If not... any info on this player?
