De La Vara is your basic set-up lefty. He has decent stuff - 1.18 career minor league WHIP, keeps the ball inthe park, and around 8 Ks per 9 innings - but he's been a little old for the league during his minor league progression (didn't make it to rookie ball in the U.S. until age 20).
