I find it hard to believe that Emaus doesn’t get more love. His BB to K ratio for the past summer and fall season alone should make his stature sky-rocket, especially in the Jays organization.

Why is Ryan Kalish ranked so low? I thought he’d make the top 10, or at least be ahead of guys like Venters and Martin. I’m also surprised that first rounder Jason Castro is behind Dominic Brown and Kyle Drabek and #7 pick Yonder Alonso is behind an erratic pitcher like Brackman.

Isn’t number 20 Tony Cruz a member of the Cardinals’ organization?

What major league player would you compare Alonso to ? What about Todd Frazier ?

I’d compare Alonso to Joey Votto or Todd Helton. For Todd Frazier, maybe a bigger version of Dan Uggla.

How long will it take Buster Posey to get to the majors? He may not stay with the Giants long if his trade value is really high.

The coaches in the Hawaiian Winter League, who see the players play on a daily basis selected Mark Hallberg as league MVP He batted .362 in the regular season and .367 overall, good for 3rd/2nd respectively overall batting. He continues to have one of the best strikeout ratios and played great defense. The prospect ranking and summary didn’t mention any of the above and seemed to ignore the coaches value given to Hallberg as MVP. Ranking as 17th top prospect doesn’t match? Could be another Dustin P. and see D-Backs infield sometime in 09.
