Three DSL Reds Earn Suspensions



Three more young Latin American players, this time a trio of Dominican Summer League Reds, garnered suspensions for 50 games for failing tests for performance-enhancing substance. 

Outfielder Cesar Colmenares, 18, tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone. He was batting .181/.264/.191 in 94 at-bats with the DSL Reds.

Righthanders Jonathan Correa, 17, and Elvin Silvestre, 18, each tested positive for a metabolite of Boldenone. Correa went 2-1, 1.19 with 20 strikeouts and eight walks in 22 2/3 innings, while Silvestre was 2-5, 4.91 with 49 strikeouts, 37 walks and 13 hit batsmen in 58 2/3 innings.
