Suspensions Levied For Two DSL Cubs

Two members of the Dominican Summer League Cubs tested positive for performance-enhancing substances, netting them 50-game suspensions.

Righthander Jesse Lebron, 18, tested positive for Methandienone metabolites. He went 1-0, 8.40 with nine strikeouts and 32 walks (that’s not a misprint) in 15 innings. He had given up only one home run, but he balanced that with six hit batsmen and 13 wild pitches.

First baseman Alexander Mejia, 22, tested positive for a metabolite of Boldenone. He was batting .299/.381/.536 with seven home runs and 43 RBIs in 224 at-bats.
