Short-Season Dish: Huntzinger Wins Again

Prospect Of The Day

Brock Huntzinger (Red Sox), a righthander for Lowell, has been stellar this season. He held Tri-City to just one hit in six innings and won a rain-shortened complete game to move to 4-0 on the season. In the process, Huntzinger lowered his ERA to 0.49.

Prospect Nuggets

Christian Friedrich (Rockies) nearly made the short-season Not Hot list on Friday following a horrendous outing. He may have worked out some issues after throwing five innings and allowing an unearned run on two hits on Sunday. He struck out eight and walked none. . . Cole McCurry (Orioles) won again and moved to 5-0 after holding Hudson Valley to an unearned run in seven innings. The Aberdeen lefthander allowed an unearned run on five hits and struck out six. If McCurry can keep it up, he might receive a second chance in the SAL League. . . Williamsport first baseman Steve Susdorf (Phillies) went 1-for-3 with a double and is hitting .417 with four doubles and three home runs in his first eight games as a pro.

What To Watch For Today

Vermont and Oneonta will try to play a doubleheader today for the second day in a row after rain forced the two teams to postpone both games yesterday.
