Short-Season Dish: Bleier Among Spokane’s Strong Pitching

Prospect Of The Day

Spokane’s pitching has been ridiculously good this season and we have already touched on a couple of Rangers’ prospects that have made this team go. Yesterday, the strong starter was Richard Bleier (Rangers). Bleier went six innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits. The lefthander from Florida Gulf Coast did not walk a batter and struck out four.

Prospect Nuggets

Christian Friedrich’s (Rockies) start has not been a good one. The Rockies’ first-rounder allowed five runs in four innings and has a 10.50 ERA through two starts for Tri-City. . . Josh Vitters (Cubs) had a strong showing at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double. . . Vancouver shortstop Jason Christian (Athletics) went 1-for-4 with a two-run double. He is hitting .333 with two home runs and 14 RBIs on the season.

What To Watch For Today

Mike Loree (Giants) will look to continue his run of perfection when Salem-Keizer hosts Vancouver. Loree has allowed one base-runner in his last 20 innings.
