South Atlantic League
Prospect Of The Day
Lakewood (Phillies) shortstop Freddy Galvis is known much more for his glove than his bat, but he had the kind of night hitters dream about against Asheville (Rockies). Galvis went 5-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs in a 6-5, 10-inning win. His two-run double in the top of the second plated the first runs of the game, and in his final at-bat he of the night he came through with a two-out double in the top of the 10th. Joel Naughton followed Galvis with a single to drive in the winning run.
Rome (Braves) DH Cody Johnson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in the Braves’ 6-5 loss to West Virginia (Brewers) … Greensboro (Marlins) third baseman Matt Dominguez went 2-for-5 with a home run, his seventh, and three RBIs in a 10-9 win over Charleston (Yankees). The home run was a two-run shot off RiverDogs righthander Jairo Heredia, the first long ball Heredia’s given up since June 19. Later, with the score tied in the bottom of the eighth, Dominguez came through with the game-winning RBI single through the left side of the Charleston infield. Dominguez raised his line to .304/.369/.450 in 191 at-bats.
