Only one game was played yesterday, with San Jose (Giants) taking down Rancho Cucamonga (Angels) 8-1. Outfielder Mike Mooney was 1-for-4 with a three-run home run to lead the Giants. The Quakes managed just five hits, all singles. Outfielder Peter Bourjos and catcher Hank Conger each had a hit. Conger drove in the lone run.
What To Watch For Today
The Quakes have another tough task to face today as the Giants send righthander Tim Alderson (11-3, 3.16) to the mound.

Prospect Of The Day
Kinston (Indians) first baseman Beau Mills was 2-for-4 with his 28th double of the season, good enough for POTD with yesterday’s action, but not good enough for a win. Kinston was held to five hits and no runs as Myrtle Beach (Braves) took the win, 4-0.
Prospect Nuggets
Outfielder Gorkys Hernandez was 1-for-3 with a run scored for Myrtle Beach…Wilmington (Royals) righthander Edward Cegarra was bounced early from his start after allowing seven runs on 11 hits in four innings. He walked one and struck out one, falling to 3-6, 5.58…Catcher Carlos Santana made his debut with the Indians after being included in the deal for Casey Blake. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and left two men on base.
What To Watch For Today
The Frederick (Orioles) vs. Salem (Astros) game was suspended yesterday after the fourth inning and will resume today. Meanwhile, Potomac (Nationals) will send lefthander Ross Detwiler (5-7, 5.44) to the mound.
Florida State League
Sarasota (Reds) put on a show yesterday and shortstop Todd Frazier led the way. He was 3-for-5 with a double, home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Sarasota held Clearwater to just three hits and won 11-2.
Prospect Nuggets
Third baseman Juan Francisco was 2-for-4 with his 15th home run, his contribution to the rout by Sarasota…Outfielder Michael Taylor was the leader for Clearwater (Phillies), going 1-for-4 with a solo home run…Catcher Jonathan Lucroy was 1-for-5 with a home run for Brevard County (Brewers)…Righthander Cody Satterwhite pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing just two hits in Lakeland’s (Tigers) 6-5 loss to Tampa (Yankees).

Righthander Deolis Guerra (10-5, 4.56) will take the hill for Fort Myers (Twins).
