Nance’s inclusion here is puzzling, seeing as he hasn’t pitched in the affiliated minors since 2005—and hasn’t pitched for the Brewers since 2003—yet he shows up in this week’s transactions. Ballouli retired during 2007 spring training, but the Brewers hadn’t reported it to MLB prior to this point. In similar fashion, Brady and Kloosterman actually were cut prior to the 2006 season.
