Astros’ Lefty Suspended



Astros lefthander Carlos Lazu was suspended for 50 games for failing a test for performance-enhancing drugs, the commissioner’s office announced today. The suspension will be effective at the start of the 2008 season.

Lazu, 21, compiled an 8.14 ERA with 16-8 K-BB in 24 1/3 innings for Rookie-level Greeneville.
