It’s not often that a pitcher hits a home run, but Mark Holliman might not even remember it. Holliman’s two-run home run was overshadowed as he no hit the Huntsville Stars in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday.
Holliman’s bid for a perfect game ended with a walk in the second, but that was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect evening. The no-hitter ended a four-game losing streak for Holliman as he lowered his ERA to 2.49.
According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Holliman’s fastball sat in the high 80s, surprisingly he told the paper that he couldn’t remember if had ever thrown a no-hitter before.
