No Sausage Beating, But Simon Still Gets Three Years

Venezuela first baseman Randall Simon was suspended by the Caribbean Baseball Federation for three years on Wednesday.

He apparently left Aguilas in the Dominican at midseason–even though he was under contract–then signed another deal with Aragua in Venezuela.

Simon, who’s Aragua team went 2-3 in the Series, cannot play in any league in the federation–that covers Mexico, the DR, Venezuela and Puerto Rico . . . for now. The federation is likely to expand to include Nicaragua and Colombia, possibly as early as next season.

Maybe it’s just me, but do you really think this DR club would be undefeated with Simon in the lineup?
