The Cardinals pull a surprise with prep shortstop Pete Kozma out of Owasso (Okla.) High. Kozma ranked 39th on the BA Top 200, but he’s generally regarded as the top middle infielder available this year, along with Florida prep Drew Cumberland. The Cardinals are painfully thin up the middle thanks in part to injuries and poor performances by the likes of Tyler Greene (a 2005 first-rounder), Brendan Ryan and Tommy Pham. When seen though that lens, Kozma makes sense for St. Louis.
