Seniors have NO leverage . Thats what this is all about . Each team has a list of seniors that they feel may become a prospect . If you are lucky enough to be on the list , you will get a call to see what you will play for . Any realistic senior would know that all they will be able to get is 5-10k . But if you say your looking for more , the team will just go to the next guy on the list until they find a player willing to take what is being offered . Then the guy who didnt take the deal will wake up the next day hoping to get a call in the 25th plus round so he can sign for $1000 .

not sure they have leverage.
$20-30K more by blackmailing, but since this is probably a change of prior discussion, a clear end to their baseball dream…. Tucker by signing immediately, will be intregrated within the org, and given all his chance to do what he loves.

He's got leverage, though. If he doesn't sign, the club doesn't get the budget from his draft slot.

These guys made the right move . stayed in school . got their degrees . most likely better than average senior ball players that have upside potiential . They have a life waiting for them after baseball .
some of these posters need to do a little research and perhaps they would find that most seniors that get drafted usually get less then $10k . I think anyone would take $7-8k in the 4-7 round then take MAYBE get $10k in the 25-35 round.
MLB may be taking advantage of their willingness to sign for a small percentage of slot money , but these guys are taking advantage of MLB by showing up at camp with a 4th round pick next to their names which will indeed present more chances to for them to climb the latter then the guys with 35th round next to their name .
These guy are playing for the love of the game . I find that refreshing

Makes no sense for clubs to give that much money to Seniors that have numbers like Barraclough. With those numbers he is worth a cup of coffee and a plane ticket.
