Mets Land Plawecki For $1.4 Million

The Mets have agreed to terms with supplemental first-rounder Kevin Plawecki on a $1.4 million bonus. The offensive-minded catcher led Purdue to its first Big Ten Conference regular-season title in 103 years and first-ever conference tournament championship this spring. He makes consistent line-drive contact, has some power potential and gets the job done defensively.

The assigned value for Plawecki's 35th overall pick is $1,467,400.
