The Mets and first-round pick Gavin Cecchini have agreed to terms on a bonus of $2.3 million. A shortstop from Barbe HS in Lake Charles, La., Cecchini has solid defensive tools and a steady bat. His brother Garin signed with the Red Sox for $1.31 million as a fourth-round pick in 2010.

New York's assigned value for Cecchini's No. 12 overall pick is $2.55 million.
