http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/2012/06/giants-take-chris-stratton/ Mon, 25 Mar 2013 16:45:08 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.5.1 http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/2012/06/giants-take-chris-stratton/comment-page-1/#comment-138880 Matt Stockhausen Tue, 05 Jun 2012 02:02:47 +0000 http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=4858#comment-138880 Lots of concern that Stroman will have to be a reliever, but Stratton's repertoire looks more bullpen-ish to me.  Stroman throws a bit harder, but offers a strong slider, quality change, and now a cutter; he's got a starter's toolkit, he's just short.  Stratton, on the other hand, lacks the changeup; it's very easy to see him limited in 2-3 years to the heater and whichever breaking ball develops best, and moved to the 'pen to see if he adds velocity there (which could make him a real hammer).  Love both prospects, but hard to see why Stratton's a starter and Stroman's in the pen.
