Draft Will Again Air On MLB Network



The 2012 draft is less than two weeks away and, once again, the big event will air live on MLB Network. On the first day of the draft, June 4, MLB Network will air a draft preview show at 6 p.m. ET before the draft begins at 7 p.m.

Baseball America executive editor Jim Callis will be on hand for the broadcast and will join MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, Peter Gammons, John Hart, Brian Kenny, Harold Reynolds, Sam Ryan, Lauren Shehadi and Matt Yallof, as well as Jonathan Mayo from MLB.com. Several top players have been invited to attend the broadcast, as well.

Commissioner Bud Selig will announce selections for the first round, while the following club representatives will announce the selections for the sandwich round, picks 32-60.

The draft will last three days, picking up at noon on June 5 for rounds two through 15 and June 6 for rounds 16 through 40.
