Does anybody know how much money Tyler Beede turned down from the Blue Jays? I can't blame the kid for wanting to get an education at a prestigious institution like Vanderbilt, but you have to wonder if in 3 years he'll get anywhere close to the amount of money he got offered last night.

Signing people at the wire is not how to conduct business. Agents and players who are gullible enough to hold out and start their pro career a year later are missing a huge opportunity to build relationships with their future team mates. What ever happened to the words "LOYALTY" and "TEAM" when it came to playing baseball? It seems today's front office execs enjoy waiting until the last minute rather than make a statement that they want players who want to go out and PLAY NOW, rather than sign after draft day is completed! It's a different baseball world today and we're headed in the wrong direction I'm afraid.
