Tribe Signs Lavisky For $1 Million

The Indians have signed Ohio prep catcher Alex Lavisky, their eighth-round pick, for a $1 million signing bonus, according to BA's Jim Callis. Signing Lavisky leaves the Indians with their first three selections unsigned—No. 5 overall pick Drew Pomeranz, second-rounder LeVon Washington and third-rounder Tony Wolters.

Lavisky is a strong, 6-foot-1, 210-pounder with plus power from the right side of the plate. A quarterback last fall in high school football, he's a good athlete with arm strength.
