Cubs Ink Golden For $720,000



The Cubs have signed second-round pick Reggie Golden for $720,000. The 65th overall pick, he received a bonus worth $157,500 more than MLB's recommendation for his draft position, making his the biggest of the known above-slot deals to date.

An outfielder from Wetumpka (Ala.) High, Golden is a right fielder with five-tool potential.

what is the status of hyden simpson the cubs first round choice.  they signed him but he has not played yet  is he injuryed?

Hayden Simpson has Mononucleosis and according to reports wont pitch until the fall. I'm guessing in the Arizona Fall league.

Simpson has mono, and will not pitch this season.  That is what I have read.
