The Mets get more talent one spot behind the Diamondbacks, taking North Carolina righthander Matt Harvey. The Nutmeg State product fits the Mets profile. Rudy Terrasas, the Mets' scouting director, likes his pitchers big, physical and throwing hard, and that's what Harvey does. He also has the power slider and improved control to be a front-of-the-rotation starter if it all comes together. Harvey's the best pitcher the Mets have drafted since Mike Pelfrey in 2005.
Chris Sale and Zack Cox are now looking for a home. We're expecting Delino Deshields to go eighth overall to the Astros, who also could take Washington prep outfielder Josh Sale. Jim Callis also Tweets Karsten Whitson to the Padres at No. 9 and Michael Choice at 10 to the Athletics.
