Below are the latest Draft Report Card grades for each team from 2005-08, which are explained in detail in the 2010 Prospect Handbook. Grades are based solely on the quality of the draftees signed, and not on the number of picks added/lost through free-agent compensation, the amount of money spent, whom the players may have been traded for or unsigned players who became prominent.

Thank god Jack Z is the man now! I expect 4 years from now to be above a 3.0!
Posted by Patrick Jones | January 8, 2010 at 2:35 pm | ShortcutI would like to see Baseball America get a 30 team Pro's versus Joe's league going to uncover some hidden baseball talent finders amongst it's loyal readers.
Posted by Phil Case | January 12, 2010 at 11:46 am | ShortcutWe could have 14-15 Pro's picked from current BA employees, former BA employees, fantasy writers from other sites, MLB, and/or MiLB writers, and 14-15 BA readers in a very competitive league.
I am surprised that the Reds and Brewers are so high on the list, and the Yankees and Angels have done so poorly. But these ranking are very accurate. Pittsburgh and the Nats are lucky to be ranked where they are.

Matt Antonelli – Mat Latos – Kyler Burke – Chad Huffman – Wade LeBlanc – Cedric Hunter

…seems like no contest to me.
your gpas are off. a plus is worth .3 more, not .5. a minus is worth .7, though you don't use it. the giants gpa is 3.4, but the red sox gpa is 3.4. also, what is reflected in the mlb average per year?
Posted by mike | January 13, 2010 at 2:26 pm | Shortcutoops, the giants gpa is 3.5 and the red sox gpa is 3.4
Posted by mike | January 13, 2010 at 2:28 pm | ShortcutAs an astros fan I'm worried that they will take the cheap draft choices instead of the Quality draft choices. I just cann't see the astros owner coughing up $ 6 to $ 8 million for THREE high choices. In 2009 they were 25th in spending for the draft There was only FIVE teams out of 30 that spent LESS. They were rated the worst minor league system in baseball Baseball america seems to think the guy the astros put in charge of the draft will correct the problems — I question that THIS YEARS DRAFT DOESN'T TOO GREAT. They are back to taking the cheap way out. After what SELIG did to them in 2009 it looks BAD– Forcing them to hire COOPER Who HAD TO BE THE WORST MANAGER I CAN EVER REMEMBER IN BASEBALL AMONG OTHER THINGS LIKE REFUSING TO LET THEM DRAFT STUBBS. I cann't remember a commisioner ever getting that involved with a team And all for the BAD . John B.
