Matz signed for $895k .

Darn you Matt Purke!

What are you thinking turning down 4 million dollars. Seriously what went through that head. I’ll be at TCU this year and we’re gonna talk.

Seriously though, why didn’t he sign. 4 million was more than fair. Any ideas why? Pitching for his home state team, Nolan Ryan mentoring him, a team on the upswing, and 4 million dollars. I don’t get it. Please explain.

Strasburg at 15.67M………I’m thinking Boras could have taken that deal when they offered it to him on draft day and his player could have been pitching in the Majors by now, thus giving him an entire season of service time. Making him that much closer to being an actual free agent.

Strasburg won’t throw a pitch in the big leagues before May of next year, and that’s only if the Nats don’t decide he needs to “work on his changeup”. In that case think May 2011.
