It is hard to say someone got screwed at those wages and in this economy. Ackley is some kind of ballplayer. The Mariners set it up for him to have to earn the rest. Great deal for both parties.

Yes, I also think that Ackley got a raw deal. Strasburg got an awesome deal, but I hope that he pans out in Washington and realizes all of the potential that he has. He is an excellent prospect.

Ackley can make $10 million over 4 years. $7.5 million plus $2.5 million.

Dustin Ackley got screwed. He should have received $10 million on a four year deal. I knew he would as no one talked about him. In any other year he is the class of the draft.

So this deal (for Strasburg) just covers his 3 0-3 years and isn’t buying out an Arb. year like some are speculating or am I not reading this right?
