Wouldn’t it figure that the Mets went cheap?

The Mets are a joke.. how can they deny the financial dire straits they’re in any longer?

Wow!!! How could a team in the biggest market spend the least amount of money?

Looks like Madoff has bankrupt Freddie Coupons!

So if the Mets signed the same players, but gave each of them an extra million dollars, it would have been a great draft?

M’kay…….

Bring back Tony Bernazard!!

The Mets reluctance to pay overslot is well documented.

I just don’t understand how it’s possible (when looking at the state of their farm system) to lowball prospects.

The Mets intentionally avoided drafting high school players like Max Stasi, Zack Von Rosenberg, Brody Colvin and Luke Bailey. They knew who they were, and they knew they were not going to pay them.

And who was the last Scott Boras draftee of the Mets? Have they ever drafted a Boras client? Did they not pass on Rick Porcello and Matt Harvey?

Their farm looks like their spending position.

Mike Pelfrey is a Boras client, drafted by the Mets.

So given the amount spent by the Cardinals (middle of the pack)– did they get value for their ten picks?

Sure it’s risky, but draft dollars are the best investment in baseball. If you didn’t spend much, then you didn’t do a good job of drafting.
