Horizon High (Scottsdale, Ariz.) catcher Tommy Joseph has agreed to terms with the Giants on a $712,500 bonus, the largest in the second round so far this year. That’s $59,100 over MLB’s recommendation for his draft slot (No. 55).
Joseph was one of the best offensive catchers available in the draft and comes from the same high school program that produced recent first-rounders Brandon Wood (Angels) and Tim Alderson (Giants). Joseph’s best tool is plus-plus raw power, and he also has above-average arm strength and accuracy. He had been committed to Arizona.

Thats a good deal. Didnt expect Giants to go over slot there. Now we just gotta get Wheeler done
