Lowering the slots a full 10% in one year seems unjustified. Neither MLB revenues nor inflaction was -10% last year. The system is broken. Essentially you've got 4 teams (Yankees, Red Sox, Angels and Cubs) who have no problem just ignoring the slot recommendations. If the system was unfair, now its MORE unfair. Its time for the MLBPA to insist on collectively bargaining away the recommendations that only apply to the other 26 teams.
