In case you missed it, we have posted the story on BA’s main page that ESPN2 will televise the draft on June 7. Given that not too many years ago MLB didn’t even release the results of the draft until weeks after the fact, it’s a revolutionary step and one that’s long overdue. Kudos to all for getting it done.

Yeah, this is great for all of the homemakers who were clamoring for the draft to be televised. It will be a nice alternative to soap operas, Maury and Oprah. Less sarcastically: 2PM-6PM EST is going work out nicely for sportswriters, college students and the unemployed. For the average working stiff, the kind of guy who can afford to pay for things like a Baseball America subscription, this is essentially worthless. How about televising the thing on an evening or a weekend like the other leagues? Is this too much to ask?

This is a great start and hopefully as Chris K suggests, it will be televised on a weekend or in the evening like the other major sports.
