HE has a great fastball and seems to get ahead of hitters quickly but does not have that many strikeouts to show for it. Is this because he has trouble locating his other pitches?

It’s clear he’s raised his profile considerably, and he’s sure to be taken in the top five rounds, but how high might not be certain until the ACC tournament, right before the draft. There were at least three crosscheckers at the game Friday, and with the only other potential high-round pick on either team being Andrew Brackman, who wasn’t pitching Friday, it’s safe to say they were in there to try to get a gauge on Thomas, just as I was. A scouting director I spoke with today was curious to know how Thomas played, but said his scouting staff had lots of evaluating left to do on Thomas.
